Pastor Michel to visit the USA

March 19, 2010

Pastor Michel Ouedraogo will be meeting members of the African Hope Initiative in Washington DC during the first week of April. The group will be visiting over five days with private, public and government officials about the Pastors vision for a 30,000 student university ( The Light of  Hope) in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

After the time in Washington DC, the pastor will be traveling to Oklahoma for a conference and then will be spending a week with the African Hope Initiative visiting supporters and new friends and partners in Colorado.

This will be a long event filled trip for Pastor Michel and we ask for your prayers and well wishes that his trip bring greatness and glory to God and to the future of young people in Burkina Faso and the continent of Africa.

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him” (1 John 5:14-15).

Team Leaves For Burkina Faso

March 8, 2010

A team team of five from Grace Chapel are leaving Denver on Thursday, March 11 for a ten day trip to Burkina Faso. The focus of the trip will be to work on unloading the container Grace Chapel shipped over in November, set up technology equipment at Deaf School, computer labs at both the Deaf School and Village of Hope and preparation trip for the November 2010 trip that will consist of deaf educators, audiologists and others in the deaf community to work at the Deaf School. Please pray for safey, good health, and effectiveness in the Burkina Faso heat.

You can see why they have captured our hearts.

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” – Mark 10:45

Surveyors at work

The team of 15 from EMI surveyed over 1000 acres, marked over 5000 survey points, and one surveyor calculated he had walked over 60 miles…all of this in 115 degree heat.  They were able to leave behind drawings, a Powerpoint presentation and a model of the site plan for the Light of Hope campus. All of this moves us much closer to the building of the future campus which will help train many leaders for Africa. Thanks EMI for your labor of love and a job well done!

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. – I Corinthians 15:58

Plans take shape
