Pastor Michel’s Visit to the USA ( continued)

May 11, 2010

Pastor  Michel Ouedraogo visit continued non-stop for three weeks, as he spent an extra week because of the volcano in Iceland prevented his return home. We were able to use the extra week with Pastor Michel to visit many more friends and new supporters.

We had the opportunity to visit with executives of a large Christian University, to explain the Pastors vision and seek their counsel and support. We are praying that this vision will touch the heart of the University and its board to join us for the future.

This is the day the Lord has made , let us rejoice and be glad in it”

Psalms 118:24

Pastor Michel the following weekend  also attended a conference of Christian world leaders in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and established several new supporters and friends.

When Pastor Michel arrived in Colorado, the days were early to late. The first morning included an early morning visit to a Men’s bible study at the Denver First Church of Nazarene, where men gathered to listen to the Pastor and embrace his enthusiasm. As a result of that meeting several days later he and members of the African Hope Initiative met with Bishop Philip Porter, the former chairman of the board of Promise Keepers. He and the Pastor had an immediate connection for a need for Men’s ministry in Africa, and we are presently on a path to begin the teaching of Pastors in Burkina Faso late this summer. Pastor Michel  was recently appointed to the position of President of The Assemblies of God Church in Burkina Faso and has approximately 5000 pastors working with him.

During the week , we were able to meet in the evening with a group of CEO’s in the Denver Tech Center. It was a diverse group of executives who added enthusiasm, guidance and support. We are very grateful to Adil Khan CEO of Amplidyne  for pulling the group together and our host Sami Miro, Founder of S.A. Miro,Inc.

Later that week we were again at an early morning bible study with men from Littleton, Colorado and as a result of that meeting, we were introduced to the Executive Director Camiilla Seabolt of International Community Bible Study headquarters in Colorado Springs. At the end of that week we were able to meet with Camilla and Rob Clague, Director of International Operations. The Pastor explained the need they have for more formalized Bible Study and the meeting was filled with enthusiasm, as Community Bible Study  International had recently started to focus on Africa and was looking for partners. The Pastor being the President of the Assemblies of God Church was able to give a place for CBS to start quickly. It also turned out that CBSI had the courses already in French and then the meeting just swelled into God’s work and off we go. With your continued prayer it appears that a senior team Frank & Marian Vroegop from CBSI will under the leadership of Maury Kapsner-CBSI Director – Africa- head to Burkina Faso early this fall. Please continue to pray as these doors are becoming wide open to help our Christian partners and friends in Africa. CBSI Is an awesome organization filled with passion.

“Making disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ in our communities through caring in-depth Bible study, available to all.

Camilla Seabolt Executive Director -CSBI

There so many more stories to tell you about and we will continue next week. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.

I will give you a new heart and the spirit within you”
